The most significant investment made by CTS GmbH last year was undoubtedly the construction of the new production hall at the company's headquarters in Burgkirchen an der Alz, Germany.
There were many reasons for the expansion, the most important being the fact that the previous production hall on Fuhrmannstraße, just a few meters away, is at full capacity and will not be sufficient in the future. This is also due to the continued excellent order situation, which means that production capacities will be fully utilized for the next few years.
Another reason is the centralization of production automation. Until now, production automation was distributed across different locations. In addition, there were various external warehouses, which posed further logistical challenges.
The new building, which is over 100 meters long and 34 meters wide, will now house almost the entire production automation – including storage areas.
The 105-meter-long, 34-meter-wide hall with a maximum height of 13.5 meters is located on a 110,000-square-foot property.
This provides a full 32,000 square feet of production and storage space. In addition, the directly adjacent 8700-square-foot office space will also house the construction, service and purchasing departments in the future.
The new building was constructed according to the highest possible energy standard today and is equipped with a 300kW air-to-air heat pump for heating and cooling in the air circulation system and an 800kWp photovoltaic system.
