Munich. Small and medium-sized enterprises are considered the backbone of the Bavarian economy. To highlight this fact, the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs presents the “Bayerns Best 50” award to the 50 fastest-growing SMEs in the state every year – this year for the 22nd time. The winning companies impressed an auditing firm acting as an independent juror with above-average increases in sales and the number of employees, as the ministry writes in a press release. “The award is an appreciation of the economic and social importance of medium-sized companies,” said Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger (Free Voters), quoted in the press release. ‘With their expertise and skills, all companies make an important contribution to future competitiveness,’ he continued.
Three companies from planning region 18 were among those honored. One of them is cts GmbH in Burgkirchen (Altötting district). The company, which specializes in automation technology, is extremely pleased: “We would like to thank the cts employees, whose commitment has made this growth and this award possible. We are very proud of our team and together we will continue to grow successfully,” explains Hans Gehringer, managing director of cts GmbH. He promises to keep the company on a growth path in the future and to continue hiring. The new production hall that is being built in the Hecketstall industrial park in Burgkirchen shows that further investments are being made in the region (as reported). Several million euros are being invested in the new building, which is scheduled for completion in the fall.

The second award-winning company from the region, Abel Mobilfunk GmbH & Co. KG, has already received the prize for the third time. In Eggelsberg in the district of Traunstein, where the company is based, the repeated honor is seen as confirmation that the chosen path is the right one. Abel Mobilfunk is a company of the Abel Group, which emerged from the company Abel, founded in 1912, and now employs over 900 internal and external employees. From Hermann Abel's point of view, they are the cornerstone of success: “Only with well-trained and satisfied employees can we assert ourselves on the market in the long term and continue to convince our customers.” And further: “Without the commitment of each individual, regardless of which department they are from, our unparalleled company growth would not have been possible.” The third company from the region to receive an award is Atoma-Multipond from Waldkraiburg (Mühldorf am Inn district). The special machine builder for weighing systems in the food and non-food sector employs 420 people worldwide. − hw
